The last 2 days I’ve seen a positive mood boost, felt more energetic, my cheeks look pink and the whites of my eyes are brightening. The bitter herbs have decreased my cravings for sugar and food in general! If you or someone you know is prone to cravings, especially sugar and sweets, I highly recommend working bitter foods or herbs into the diet.
Day of the Dad! 🎉 If you’re still pondering dinner creations for that special man in your life ... this will cure the tastebuds and it’s ready in 15 minutes. 🙌cheesy melts with 3 layers: 〰️Marinated portobello (recipe on the blog: google ‘ Hooked on Plants portobello steaks’- just marinate 10 minutes), 〰️sautéed kale in tamari/garlic, 〰️melted cheese ( @daiyafoods@gustafoods@buteislandfoods@violifeamerica@blacksheepvegancheeze ...so many 🌱 options) 〰️ layer up the sliced/marinated shrooms and cheese, broil it up, top it off with the kale sauté + hemp seeds = NOM !! Love your people! 🎈🎈My step Dad (along with my Mom) are plant-based too (for 3 years now) 😍all for longevity, energy and the tastiness of it all 🙌🙌🙌🙌
LEMONE SESAME BITES
These taste like a healthy version of lemon poppyseed loaf! They’re such an amazing snack and shockingly high in calcium because of the sesame seeds. A quarter cup of sesame seeds has more calcium then 1 cup of dairy milk!
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut
- 1/2 cup sunflower seed
- 3 Tbsp poppy seeds
- 1 cup dates (soaked for easy blending)
- juice and zest of 1 lemon
- 1 tsp vanilla
Place all dry ingredients into blender or food processor. Blend until you reach a thick flour like consistency. Add all other ingredients and continue blending until well incorporated. Place batter in fridge for 15 min. Shape into balls and roll in additional sesame or poppy seeds.
Salad & sunset 🌄. #sunday dinner time on the patio. We also made grilled sweet potatoes with sea salt & coriander!

I highly recommend taking some time on Sundays to do something that’s going to make your week easier and healthier. If you’re short on time, just schedule your workouts for the week in your phone calendar or wash/ cut some raw veggies for snacking. For those who have the time, batch cook some base ingredients for quick and easy meals (think: roast veg, hard boil eggs, cook some rice, etc.). This ensures you’re going into Monday morning cool, calm, collected and ready to conquer the week. 👊🏼
My to-do this for tonight: wash some kale, make some fat balls, then do some laptop work and watch the new season of Queer Eye lol. Hope you guys have the best week! 💕
I often get women say “i don’t have time to meal prep”. I don’t have time to workout” (even for 20 mins).
Here’s the thing: I’ve been there.
I remember the years where my job took priority over everything.
And guess what? I felt like shit.
And it translated on the outside too: quick to react, negative, and at times, empty.
And i’ll continue to be real here. I know. I’ve been there. I’ve used all these reasons to skip something. When I said that I didn’t have the time to invest, what I was really saying was that my health was not a priority.
I’m not saying that you’re not busy because most of us are.
time doesn’t own you.
you own time.
you can can create time, on your terms.
So this begs the question: where are you spending your time?
Take a few moments throughout the day to look at how you spend your time.
The usual culprits: snoozing through your alarm, t.v, social media, work outside office hours, text msg’s, alcohol, gossip, fast food, (insert examples here), and so on. ➡️What is one area if your life that you could definitely make more time for? Tell me ⬇️

Real talk: I find it funny when I see people exercising midday, looking like they are going to die (because it’s so hot out, the sun is squeezing every ounce of hydration from their bodies). And then, of course, I go do the same. Moral of the story: wake up early and sweat. It’s a great and refreshing way to start your day and is WAY less challenging than moving yo’ booty midday. #ThatIsAll

Every single day we can make a choice to either consume easy convenient food that is full of ingredients that affect her health in a myriad of ways or take a little extra time and prepare foods that nourish our bodies and give us life.

I have always had a love for poetry. Mostly the beauty that words can bring when they are written down and come to life. I recently watched an interview with Iggy pop and Anthony Bourdain and the words spoken by Iggy gave me chills, when Anthony asked him, what’s the perfect day in Miami? And this was his response ✨👇🏼
“It’s a clear morning. Hot and humid. No moderate or any of that crap. No, it’s hot. Hot, humid. The sun comes up in a hazy tropical orange orb. And you’re not working. You have no schedule and you have no meetings, but you have somebody fun to spend the time with and you would go to the beach. When the sun isn’t quite right over head yet, because the beach faces east, the sun sparkles on the water. And the sparkles are very nice and positive. Voluminous and undistinguished company.”
So many thoughts and feelings came to mind when I read and heard these words. It brought me feelings of friendship, love, and the simple beauties in life.
