MAR. 18 -
Congressional Republicans in both the House & Senate have stepped up to speak out about the recent actions of President Trump regarding Special Counsel Robert Mueller & his “war on the FBI”. One in particular is Rep. Trey Gowdy [R-SC], who said on Fox News Sunday, “When you are innocent, act like it.” Gowdy, a Trump supporter, is one of several Republicans who are now speaking up and condemning the President’s behavior and handling of the Mueller investigation. Some are even calling for hearings regarding the McCabe firing.
What does this backlash from his party [President Trump] and even his supporters in Congress signal? -
Personally, I find it relieving to see Republicans stand up for principle over party. Especially at a time where the Republican Party is becoming the “Party of Trump” and becomes the antithesis of what the party was founded upon. We’ve shifted from leaders like Lincoln, Coolidge, Eisenhower & Reagan, to a man whose Presidency seems ridden with controversy and is quite possible the most unorthodox Presidency ever seen. We also mustn’t forget that Special Counsel Mueller is in-fact a Republican and was appointed by a Republican President [George W. Bush] to lead the FBI. Therefore, contradicting claims of him being “a liberal shill who seeks to take down the opposition”. These Republicans who are being vocal and seeking to execute the checks and balances which are ordained to the branches of government by the Constitution are in my opinion, exceptional leaders and men and woman of principle. Like many, I anxiously anticipate what might be revealed from the McCabe memos and the Mueller investigation. -
What’re your thoughts on the Mueller investigation and President Trump’s handling of it? -
@buckleyanite endorses you being vocal about your opinions & will always be open to debate. -
Liberals preach about being accepting of others, tolerating their views and a strong belief in their 1st Amendment right to be vocal about their beliefs. They are staunch supporters of these values, until contradicted. Conservatives, everywhere, often keep quiet on their views, hoping to avoid triggering a liberal who might be intolerant and at times, violent because they’ve found out that there are views that aren’t in accordance with theirs and that don’t coincide with their agenda. When met with opposition, liberals are often keen to name-calling, and spew hateful rhetoric and phrases like “bigot”, “nazi”, “sexist”, “anti-this”, “anti-that”. Now, this mention of liberals and their intolerant tendencies is no dismissal to the conservative use of “snowflake” and other phrases - which are often, also, utterly repugnant and ignorant - because this hypocrisy is nonetheless, a two-way street, yet seen more coming from our counterparts on the left. Especially with the sensitive culture and “safe spaces” that are being accepted to mollify this generation and their apparent anger and inability to accept defeat - following the election of President Donald J. Trump [which happened nearly 2 years ago] - along with their incessant need to claim victim when met with opposition or protest every chance they’d get, being deluded into believing that their whining will change something or that school walkouts will end all gun violence and that soon, we will all be sitting around a campfire singing ‘Kumbaya’. What drives the left to express these feelings? Is it a lack of discipline in children which causes them to feel entitled? Is it society for perpetuating this ignorance and hypocrisy? There are many questions and many answers, however, it takes daring conservative minds to speak up and engage in debate with these deluded and misguided individuals. -

Meet the silent executioner!
“Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI - A great day for Democracy. Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy. He knew all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the FBI!”-@realdonaldtrump#tweet

Pictured above [in the slides] is my most recent political compass and several of my political inspirations: [William F. Buckley Jr., Ronald W. Reagan & Rand H. Paul]. I consider myself a Centre-Right Conservative & a Fusionist. While I hold traditional conservative views on social issues, I hold rather libertarian-like views on numerous social & economic issues. Henceforth, my views are rather a concoction of both ends of the conservative spectrum.
William F. Buckley Jr. is perhaps my greatest political inspiration. I admire his work, his accent & his incredible ability to eloquently obliterate opponents such as Gore Vidal in often heated debates over politics during party conventions in the 60s and over time, as he hosted, ‘The Firing Line’. In addition, I am one who enjoys a good book, and English literature, along with writing - especially essays or opinionated editorials on politics & various issues.
I look forward to joining ‘politigram’ & becoming active in civilised debate among this sector of Instagram. -
